“Alzheimer’s is not a single disease…there are steps we can all take now to prevent the cognitive decline that experts have long believed to be unavoidable and irreversible.” Dale Bredesen, The End of Alzheimer’s: The First Program to Prevent and Reverse Cognitive Decline

Alzheimer’s is one of the many prevalent chronic illnesses today, and the model behind Bredesen’s “The End of Alzheimer’s” is a great illustration of the multiple factors that can contribute to chronic disease and illness. In this discussion, we will look at those many elements that contribute to Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline- and potentially all manifestations of chronic illness. The protocol illustrated in Bredsen’s work is in many ways what many Functional & Integrative Medicine practitioners are already practicing, and at Lake Travis Integrative Medicine is no exception. We take a systems biological approach, including the many factors that can contribute to one disease or issue, and address and investigate the root cause of illnesses. We incorporate mind, body and spirit and believe that an individualized, patient centered approach is essential to healing.

Join Dr. Julie Reardon & Nurse Practitioner Theresa Hernandez of Lake Travis Integrative Medicine for a discussion about an integrative & functional approach to cognitive optimization. We will discuss the multifactorial reasons for chronic disease and steps we can all take to optimize our health and avoid cognitive decline and chronic disease.
